In His Basement, He Waits Painting

So I started playing Warhammer 40k a few months ago. By playing I mean 3 games with friends and Cthulhu-knows how many hours spent painting and modeling. The jump into this genre of gaming (tabletop) was a very difficult one that was motivated by two things: a really awesome game of chess and a complete lack of hobbies. It just kind of snowballed from there. Dawn of War completely sucked me in to the entire universe and then I met the Grey Knights and Sisters of Battle and things just got all sorts of fanboy. So I'm honing some painting techniques and biding my time until I can collect the pieces for a moderate sized Sisters army. I even went all out and made up a chapter name. Stop judging.

Space Nuns with Guns and Flamethrowers. Shutup.
Demon-hunting Space Marines with Polearms. SHUTUP.

Now to dump some links of things I'm trying to work on:

Beautiful stippling/camo effect on some Eldar vehicles:
Alaitoc Stippling Effect

Lately I've been working on basing designs and schemes and this is one of the effects I want to end on:
Mud Basing Effect

Creating realistic heat-staining on metal effects: Heat Stained Gun Barrels

Terrain is expensive. This is how to do it cheap: Cheap Modular Forest

Well that got nerdy real fast...
